    Northeast offers CPR class  May 31, 2007
    Participants will be instructed on emergency measures that may save the life of a person who has suffered a cardiac arrest or obstructed airway. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a certificate card in the American Heart Association standards for adults, child and infant CPR, also conscious and unconscious choking.     LaPorte boy chokes to death on hot dog  Sep 14, 2006
    Dove found the boy on the lunch room floor being attended to by school personnel, who performed the Heimlich maneuver to try to clear his obstructed airway. In his report, Dove said he tried the Heimlich maneuver several times until paramedics took over. (Post-Tribune)
