Board will hire help for 'Flash' Feb 27, 2008
After a two-month standoff between Augusta-Richmond County Coliseum Authority members, mainly over the management of General Manager Robert "Flash" Gordon, the board came together Tuesday and agreed to hire someone to help him. Mr. Gordon will remain in charge, but his main job will be to market the James Brown Arena and Bell Auditorium. (The Augusta Chronicle)

Josey ousted in second round Feb 27, 2008
--- Ken Taylor had a game-high 30 points and East Laurens outscored Josey by 16 points at the free-throw line to defeat the Eagles 70-64 Tuesday night in the second round of the Georgia High School Association Class AA state playoffs. Josey made two more total field goals than East Laurens, but the host Falcons were 21 of 26 at the free throw line while the Eagles were only 5 of 6. (The Augusta Chronicle)
