    On Oct. 5, the Wahpeton Eagles Club held a benefit for London Victoria Nordick, who was born April 6, 2007, with a rare disease, Sacrococcygeal Teratoma, that effects only one out of 40,000 babies born in the United States. More than 650 people came to the benefit, ate a filling lasagna dinner, and bid on items in a silent auction that were provided by many of our area businesses. (Wahpeton Daily News, ND)

    An overwhelming response for London  Oct 3, 2007
    On Dec. 19, 2006, Nordick discovered her unborn baby girl had a disease called Sacrococcygeal Teratoma, which is a predominantly non-malignant mass that sits at the base of the tailbone inside the newborn and externally extends. After Nordick gave birth the mass was removed successfully, but recent tests indicated another surgery is required to remove an additional tumor and cysts. (Wahpeton Daily News, ND)
